” I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.” Genesis17:7

Mark and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas. My favorite thing was our visit to Hoover Dam. It was great to spend time together as a couple with no kids.
I’m thankful for the Christian heritage that has been passed down through generations of my family. One of our summer trips was to the farmlands where my parents grew up. We want our children to know their “roots”. My girls and I took a short trip to Kansas with my parents and my niece and nephew.
We have two children with summer birthdays to be celebrated. Lydia chose to invite a few friends to go bowling at Fast Lane. Chloe had a fun time with friends at the Bentonville splash pad.
Every year we try to grow a small garden. This year we had luck with tomatoes, squash and peppers. We also picked blueberries and blackberries in season.
The girls and I made a few trips to the Rogers Aquatic Center. We met friends there each time. Several of our friends and neighbors have pools. We appreciated being able to swim with them.
Last summer we had a “cousin swap” with our four nieces from the Kansas City area. We weren’t able to work that our this year. I realized we should have tried harder to arrange this when Chloe started to ask for her cousins every day. We made a quick trip to visit them so the girls could get a cousin fix.
My sister and her family moved to India at the end of the summer. We tried to spend meaningful time making memories before they had to leave. We enjoyed the Bentonville fireworks together and “us girls” went to the Angels and Tomboys exhibit at Crystal Bridges.
My baby got her tonsils and adenoids taken out. Healing was a bit of a bear but she’s doing great now.
