Dwelling Place

God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Psalms 46:5

067Every time we drive into a parking lot my kids get the speech.  “Wait for me to get out.  Stay close and hold hands.  DO NOT run away from me.  Listen for my voice.”  My older kids nod and shake their heads as I’m saying it.  I’m sure they are saying it with me in their heads, as they have heard it many times.  My younger ones barely acknowledge that I’m talking.  Either way, I still say it.  I still try to get the message across.

I am the Mom, I know what’s best and when I say to stay with me, it’s because I know that is what’s safe.  It’s what’s best for them whether they choose to acknowledge and obey…or not.

I want to give you my very best parenting advice today.  It’s the only nugget I have, it’s the one thing that I KNOW for sure is the best 055thing you can do for your kids, husbands, friends, extended family.  It’s a very simple thing, but so hard to do sometimes-and that is… to seek God and DWELL in His presence. When we do this He fills us, and we in turn can pour out to the people in our lives. Over and over in His word He tells us to dwell in His presence and to abide in Him.  He wants our hearts turned towards Him always, not just for our morning devotion time.  Not just for worship time at church or group bible study-but always.

He knows us, and He knows that’s what’s best for us.  The very best thing for us is to be close to Him.

He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. Psalms 91:1

He wants us to come to Him first with everything.

Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

And when we do that He will guide us.

Then You will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me  when you search for me with all your heart.  I will be found by you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘ Jeremiah 29:12-14a

He will be consistent to meet us and stay with us.  We are the ones that choose to move away.  When we continue to seek Him and choose to dwell in His presence, He will be with us and will help us. He is always faithful.  He will meet you when you draw near, and he will help you..

God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Psalms 46:5

And He will lead you…

(This is my Momma Life Verse, it’s mine, but I’m willing to share..)

He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arm, He will carry them in His bosom and will gently lead those that have their young.

Isaiah 40:11

057So much of what I’m learning right now in my personal walk with the Lord is the importance of staying close, and this post is overflow of my heart right now.  Maybe you are right there with me, and maybe not.  If you’re sitting there reading this and you do not know Jesus as your personal savior we would LOVE to walk through those steps with you.  Please message us.  If you would rather remain private, we have provided the information for you to take those steps here.  He will meet you right where you are.
