“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

During this season of my life, nothing has encouraged me more than being around other women who share their lives in authentic ways. For the past six years, I have been involved with a weekly bible study with a group of women from our church. Having a diversity of thought, backgrounds, and age within our group has brought me so much perspective in my day to day walk with the LORD.
Serving the LORD through the act of encouraging women and teaching them about the Word is a passion of ours. Having said that we are excited to announce that Mosaic of Moms will be starting a bible study on Thursday nights beginning September 12th. We will meet at 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. (Location TBA- Contact us for more info.) No, you don’t have to be a mom to join us. This is open to all women!
This semester we will be working through Lysa TerKeurst’s book What Happens When Women Walk in Faith. No matter where you are at in your walk with God, this book will stretch you. If you are a babe in Christ or a seasoned warrior, the LORD has more for you. In this book we will take a deep look at the calling of Abraham and the five phases that he went through to realize the fulfillment of that calling. Lysa then helps you to identify what stage you are in on the road to the fulfillment of your own calling.
If you are interested in joining us and/or for more details including the location of our meet-ups, please contact at firstname.lastname@example.org or on our Facebook page for more details.

“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home…” 1 Peter 4:8-9a NLT

A few months ago when the thought of having guests in my home crossed my mind, my to-do list would double. I would think of all the things I haven’t got to yet and all the new things I now needed to do. When would I find the time? I think woman of all seasons of life can relate to this. Society makes us think we have to “have it all together”. Is there a simpler way to entertaining guests in my home without turning my family’s life upside down twenty-four hours prior to my guest’s arrival? A new motto changed my perspective: “Meaningful Entertainment…Made Simple” (Mary & Martha)
I had to change my attention from myself and my home to my guests and their needs. Doing this makes the experience more enjoyable for everyone. We are the one who sets the tone of how people feel in our homes. If we are comfortable they will be too. Continue reading
